Condolences

Condolence From: Diane Jaques
Condolence: My condolences to your family on the loss of your beautiful son. I was watching the Rural Channel network this morning and saw about the accident. I had kept up on his injuries but had heard nothing of his accident. I know the pain you are all feeling as I lost my daughter, aged 26, in a surfing accident here in California. She was a horsewoman as well and had been riding like your son since she was a child. The road you are on is a long hard road, I started this journey 3 years ago. My prayers and thoughts are with you. The grief of losing a child is a different grief from anything else you will ever feel. I know you have much support which will get you through these rough times. God is holding you in the palm of his hand..Diane Jaques

Condolence From: Marc, Kathy & Brenna Andrus
Condolence: Carpenter Family, The Andrus family expresses our deepest condolences for your loss. Not many families can say that they know what you are going through, except for those who have lost children. We lost our 18 year old son Jesse on April 12th of this year to carbon monoxide poisoning coming back from a pro rodeo in Arizona. We not only lost Jesse that night, we lost his traveling partner and best friend Mike Hillman. Please know that Jesse and Mike were there to greet Corbin at the gates of Heaven. May God Bless your family and know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Condolence From: Patsy Thomasson
Condolence: My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of ultimate sadness. I clearly don't know what it is like to lose a child but I lost my brother when he was 18 and I was 17. He was the best just as I know you all felt that Corbin was the best. Many times people said to me that the Lord only takes the best and I truly believe that he takes people that he needs. He needs Corbin now just like he needed Joe so many years ago. This does not provide much understanding unless you have great faith which I know you all have. My thoughts and prayers are with you and if I can do anything, please let me know. Patsy Thomasson

Condolence From: Dennis, Michelle, Christopher and Brittanie Wagnon
Condolence: In the summer of 2008, we heard of Corbin's accident in Farmington while we were traveling to Colorado. Our family started praying for Corbin on the spot. We were honored and blessed to hear him give his awesome testimony! We have sported our Pray for Corbin t-shirts so often that the colors are beginning to fade! But, Carpenters know this- your family has never been far from our hearts and minds these last few years. My kids enjoyed being around Corbin and knew what he stood for- just by the light of Jesus shining from his eyes. Your story and actions have lifted us up and helped us to go forward! God's peace and comfort are being lifted for you this very moment! God's grace shall be sufficient! We love y'all! Dennis, Michelle, Christopher, and Brittanie Wagnon

Condolence From: Tonda Martin Spence
Condolence: Thresea and family, there are no words to describe the pain you must be filling right now, but God has arms big enough to wrap each of you in them, to give you comfort that passes all understanding. Corbin was such a wonderful young man. I got to know him well when he was a student at Huntington School, and he was the most respectful and likeable student I've ever met. When God takes away something, he always fills it with something else so there won't be an empty space. God will fill that space with precious memories of your darling son, all the good times, all the smiles, all the wondrous works that Corbin has done since his accident, the lives he touched. Know that you were a part of such a wonderful life. May God bless each of you, and wipe your tears, as you go through this difficult time. You are all constantly in our thoughts and prayers. Tonda, Mike, Shane and Tyler Spence

Condolence From: Cindy Lester
Condolence: Dear Corbin Family, I wish to express my deepest sympathy for the loss of your son, Corbin. I am a wife, mother and para educator in St. Tammany Parish, and I am also enrolled in college courses at Northwestern State and Corbin was in my online English class. I was so looking forward to reading more of Corbin's entries on the Discussion Board and hearing more about his rodeo adventures through his essays. My daughter (who graduated from McNeese State) has many friends in the rodeo circuit, and through them, she knew what a fine young man Corbin had grown to be. My great friend, Trish Foster, who raises bucking bulls with her husband, Calvin, told me about Corbin yesterday. I immediately recognized his name as being in my class. Please know that as heavy as my heart is for you and your family, it is lightened by the knowledge that he is with our Heavenly Father and wrapped in His loving arms. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all in the coming days, weeks and months. May God Bless You.

Condolence From: Perry, Cathy and Casey Moses
Condolence: Dewitt, Theresa, Courtney, Lee and Colt. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all the rodeo families that feel the loss of Corbin. Rodeo brought our families together about 9 years ago. We started out with the Lazy T youth rodeos where our families grew together as good friends. We watched Corbin and Casey learn to ride and rope. As they grew older, they moved up to the Wrangler Division of High School Rodeo, which took us all the way to Gallup, New Mexico. All the memories of the trip to Gallup come flooding back, truck break downs, flat tires, burnt brakes and Ronnie taking a detour to Oklahoma for a hamburger. Our boys never forgot the trip to the Grand Canyon and the squirrel on the edge of the Canyon Our boys soon turned into young men and moved into the ranks of High School Rodeo and USTRC Team Roping and Girls. Many a good times were spent traveling, working rodeos, cooking, eating and enjoying the company of good friends. This summer we all headed out on the long rodeo road to Gillette, Wyoming for the National Finals High School Rodeo. Again, we had lots of great times together. We went by the Crazy Horse Mountain and did the Chevy Chase view of the monument and the we traveled to Mt Rushmore enjoyed the view and ice cream. Lots of great memories come flooding back. We feel as though we lost a family member GOD grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, the strength to change the things we can and the wisdom to know the difference. Love ya, Perry, Cathy and Casey

Condolence: Carpenter Family- I am devastated to hear of your loss. I think of Corbin often, as he was an inspiration to me to keep hope alive for all my SCI patients. He was truly an exceptional young man. I will always remember his beautiful smile that I saw literally every morning as we began therapy and he so politely greeted me with "good morning" and answered every question with "yes ma'am". He never complained, only overcame every obstacle he was given. It was truly my honor to work with him and meet your lovely family. My thoughts are with all of you and I am so sorry. Marisa
